I enjoy being able to decorate at my home and at my church for special times of fellowship. Whether getting ready for a festive time with my family or festivities where I worship, it always gives me joy in my heart to serve others. However, my decorations can be pretty colorful, a lot of fun, and sometimes . . . there's a message involved.
At Thanksgiving, Mom would humbly and beautifully decorate her hundred-year old dinner table with the small basket shaped like a horn. She called it a Cornucopia; Horn of Plenty. It would overflow with an array of fall colors. Using flowers, fruits, apples, squash, pumpkins, pears and different colors of corn, she carefully arranged them in and around the basket and completed it with a raffia ribbon. The centerpiece was bright and beautiful. It reminded us of the abundance of blessings that God had given to us. It was harvest time, a time of being grateful and sharing your blessings with others.
God, who is Creator and Master of all things, has created a beautiful assortment of people here at Temple Baptist Church. We are His Cornucopia design, every day. We gather together to praise and honor Him. We are not held together by a raffia ribbon, but he holds us together by His Grace. We are a lovely bouquet of believers who join together to worship and serve the Lord. We are beautiful in His sight. We are God's array of love and beauty; a body of believers who shine through our spiritual gifts. God must be smiling as we thank Him for nourishing our souls.
We are shaped by His love and we serve with gladness in our hearts. We know the Holy Spirit is molding us, teaching us, guiding us. We are happy to sing praises unto our King of Kings. We pray for one another and for those in our lost world who need Jesus Christ as their Savior. Our mission is to carry His Message of Salvation to everyone; we gladly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Sharing the blessings with honor and privilege, we prayerfully thank God for everything. We invite you to come and experience the Love of Christ, Bible Teaching, and Bible Study for all age groups, worship through song, and fellowship with one another. Come; enjoy our 'Cornucopia' of believers - sinners saved by Grace. Join us as we give praise to and worship the Creator of Everything.
Yours in Christ,
2 Corinthians 9:8 New King James Version
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
